March 1st - 7th, 2020

Here we are, March 1st. and only days left
 until we return home.

Sunday Ann went with us to the regular weekly market,

this is always such a well attended event
and so much available for sale.

Ann stroked another item off her vacation list, brunch at "The Secret Garden" and she was not disappointed.

Later in the day we attended a birthday party for our Pool Maintenance Man, Juan.

Juan and his sister.

Juan with one of the children, we can only guess what secrets they might be sharing in their whispers. It is heart warming to see this closeness between the ages.

Juan with his wife Erica who was our house keeper until she left for personal reasons. She worked hard at keeping our house clean during our absence, we will miss her.

Many camping travellers come to Puerto Morelos from Southern countries, Honduras, Columbia, Argentina, etc. and park on this side street in the port. Some actually live in their campers and others park their trailers and travel about.

There seems to be no way to move them on to
more appropriate areas for parking.

Actually I don't know if there are public camper/trailer
parks in our part of Mexico.

Monday we went to Playa del Camen for lunch,

to take a walk along the beach

and meet Denise and Robbie Shawana for lunch.

Denise and Robbie were vacationing at a resort just a short distance South of Playa so it was easy for all of us to meet. Vacationing with Denise and Robbie were his mother Annie and cousin Kylie. It was nice to meet some members  of Robbie's family.  Robbie's mom Annie, Ann M and I are called "Tokayas" a Spanish word meaning a group of people with the same name.

Ann doing her domestic duties while on vacation.

I could not help but admire this lawn chair made from
painted tires. Some people can be so creative.

A new thatch roof being installed.

Tuesday afternoon we invited the Durie's and Elliott's
for the afternoon and dinner.

BBQ Ribs, baked potatoes with salad and roasted vegetables were the dinner entree and since there were leftovers I would like to think that no one went home hunger.

We had a great time together with lots of laughs.

The night before we left to come home,
Claudia invited some friends in and she cooked us
 a delicious authentic Mexican dinner.

She is going to be moving, still in our subdivision
but a few streets North of us. We are going to miss
having her living across the street. 😒

We are really going to miss seeing all of these
 people until next October.

Ann and Claudia saying their farewell.

Thursday March 5th we returned to Canada.

The weather was a bit of a shock to the system when we arrived at Sudbury airport. We are adjusting - s-l-o-w-l-y.

Allan hit the road running when he got home. He started  working with Dwayne tapping trees and collecting Maple sap.

There isn't a lot of snow this year which makes
collecting a bit easier.

The weather has not been the greatest, some days and
nights are really cold causing the sap not to run.
We need to have just above 0 Celsius temperatures during the day and slightly below at night for a good run.

Everyone is waiting for the finished product,
good old time Maple Syrup.

This season's visit to Mexico will always be remembered as the year  "Air Canada Lost Our Luggage".

The document below could be an important document for your future travels as it will be mine.
