November 20th to November 30 th 2021

In the last 10 days a lot of construction work has been happening here. We have been eating out often to get away from the noise and dust and going to Cancun for materials and supplies to keep the construction workers busy.

We had to retile our pool because the grout wasn't holding and the  tiles were coming off. Due to the time involved with repairs it  was easier and cheaper to just redo the whole thing.

This is the tile pattern we chose to do the job, the crew did an awesome job, we are really happy with it.

The pool is now full of water and the chemicals are being added, soon we will be cooling off in it again.

Eating out has become common practice for us lately as mentioned earlier. I don't think  we have eaten out this often since we moved to the Colonia. Our time vacationing in Puerto Morelos port side which was prior to 2015 was spent eating out every day at least once.

These are the one liter beers at Micheladas,  we like to stop here for lunch on a grocery run to Chedraui once in a while.

Allan is really happy with his new purchase of a Shop Vac.

There has been some sunshine and nice hot Carribean weather,
but oh man, have we had rain. Not just a rainy day here and there, but major rain days for a whole 2 weeks.

This particular day we were on the port side
and stopped for lunch.

Actually the meal started out like this. The rain seemed to come in from nowhere as there were no clouds over us when we sat to eat. It had to have come in over the ocean, what a surprise.

Allan is always finding things to do, this time he went up on the rooftop to put a switch on the water pump and accidentally stepped on a pipe. Plastic doesn't last long here due to the heat from the sun and humidity, it didn't take much weight to make it snap. We were without water for a short time until a new piece of pipe was purchased and replaced.

Our favourite taxi driver, Emilio has a brand new taxi this year and  he is so proud of it too.

We celebrated the American Thanksgiving again this year. Claudia and Mauricio went to a potluck fundraiser on the port side. They needed access to an oven so Mauricio prepared their vegetable potluck contribution at our house.

Allan and I chose to have our Thanksgiving meal at Tulipan Restaurant here in the Colonia this year. It was excellent.

I had our gardener Chucho doing some work for me which included having to go to BlueGreen Nursery. I like going there just to see their lovey blossoms. Something is always in flower.

Yep, another construction project. This time we are redoing the main bathroom.

Here it is stripped down.

The redo work has begun. The big reveal will
come in the next blog post.

There has been one construction project or another
every day since October 20th. The vacation in paradise
would come sooner if we didn't keep coming up with new projects for the workers to do. They get an early morning start at 8 am and sometimes work until after 8 at night and they work weekends.

We made a trip into Cancun to meet with friends for lunch and then went to Market 23. I enjoy walking through the market and enjoying the sights, smells, sounds and the market venders and shoppers. The two pictures above are of a taco factory.

Anyone for tripe, also known as offal
?

Aren't these BBQ's neat?

This shop had everything piled around so it was impossible to get a good picture. It would have been an advantage to be able to look inside as well to see if the grills could be adjustsed, etc.

Mmmm! This would make such good head cheese! I remember my Grandma Wright made it often and it tasted so good.

The fresh fish looks good too.

This concludes another post. Until next time stay safe, keep smiling and be happy.💖
