How many of you have difficulty getting the year right
for the first few months of any given year? In the years I worked at the Municipal Office in Manitowaning - every
year was the same - from January to the end of March for accounting purposes, we were always working in two years,
the current and the previous. Crazy!
Sunday we went to the street market again then we treated ourselves to lunch at Micheladas on the highway.
On our way home we did some shopping for fruit and vegetables. It is so nice to be able to purchase fresh fruits here.
Monday we made a trip to Playa Del Carmen to purchase pots for our terrace. We went with our maintenance helper Fernando to this gorgeous nursery. He knows all the secret places.
When we were looking for tile we found ourselves at this store which sells tiles and bathroom items. Who would have thought? The blue colour of bathroom toilets and sinks is coming back. Eewe! We had this colour when we first moved into our house in the early 70's - I was so happy to have it replaced just a few years back.
We had a nice lunch with Fernando and our taxi driver while in Playa at Don Sirloin.
When we arrived back to Puerto Morelos Allan and I
joined Claudia and one of her previous Airbnb guests for dinner in the Port at Salciccia Food Truck Village. It was a chilly night but the atmosphere, food and good company took our minds off the low temperatures.
Tostadas
Tacos
Shrimp linguine
A few shots of the buildings and eating area
after dark, very nice.
Every restaurant you go to here in the Colonia and the Port has live music. It can be irritating when you are with other people and want to talk but on the whole it is nice to have music playing while you eat.
The sunshade on our terrace is secured with cement pots and rope to hold it against strong winds. We had the cement in plastic pots which cracked from the extreme heat of the summer sun, so we replaced these pots with beautifully painted clay pots. Fernando came by and reduced the size of the cement so it would fit into the new containers. Always something to do here.
The new pots are a nice change. Now perhaps I will eventually have to change my plastic flower pots. Hmmm!
A nice moth came by for a rest in the shade.
We tried out a new beer when we were in Tokes restaurant in Plaza Las Americas, Cancun. We only drank one bottle each then went back to Sol. LOL
The trip into Cancun this day started with the ADO bus from Puerto Morelos to Plaza Las Americas and on the way back we walked on the pedestrian over pass to the opposite side of the road where we were able to catch an ADO van travelling back to Puerto Morelos and beyond.
Saturday we were invited to Howard and Theresa's for dinner. They are staying at Alborada which is a gated apartment complex about a 20 minute walk from our place. Nice and close.
The pool and surrounding relaxation/recreational area within the complex. Very inviting.
That concludes another beautiful week in Paradise.
Take care everyone, stay safe, keep warm and continue to smile - it is contagious.
